The UAE Stanford Alumni Club is honored to have been selected to host the 2022 Alumni Weekend (Stanford International Alumni Weekend); which will be the first event to take place in two years. Due to Covid19 still being a reality, we have limited places (80 people) for the conference at the Expo. Dinner will be able to host up to 150 people. Here's an overview of what to expect that weekend:
Friday March 18, 2022
Evening Reception Drinks
We will send out details closer to the time, but we will invite you to join us for some drinks on Friday night, if you wish to unwind after work and/or flights into the city. This will likely take place in Dubai Marina/Palm Jumeirah (location TBC in Welcome Package after tickets purchased for any of the weekend events).

Saturday Conference on March 19, 2022
A day of inspiring curiosity, life-long learning and networking at EXPO2020.
We will be having the "Conference Day" on-site at the Expo hosted at the USA Pavilion from 9:30am to 4pm. Sub-themes are in line with the Expo's key themes for exploration, namely:
(1) Opportunity/Innovation
(2) Mobility
(3) Sustainability
There will be some time at lunch to check out the Pavillions, and some time between 4pm and dinner (which starts across town at 7pm) to check out more of the Expo site. But truth be told, if you want to see Expo 2020 properly, we suggest you extend your stay and come back to Expo for at least one full-day. (As guidance: spending even 3 full days at Expo will not be enough time to visit all the Pavilions, so plan out what you want to see beforehand!)

Saturday Evening, March 19th
Dinner in Downtown Dubai by the Burj Khalifa
We will meet for a lovely outdoor dinner at the Palace Hotel downtown Dubai, with beautiful backdrop views of the Burj Khalifa and downtown Dubai. This will be a sit-down dinner, limited to 150 seats.
Timing: 7pm to 11:30pm
Dress Code: Formal/Black Tie
Sunday Morning, March 20th
Site Visit, Chalhoub Group
The Chalhoub Group is the largest retail operator in the Middle East, and has played a crucial role in developing the luxury sector in the region since 1955. The company has more than 12,000 employees, in 14 countries. As a Silver Sponsor of the Stanford International Alumni Weekend, they have also agreed to host 50 Stanford Alumni for breakfast and an inside-look at the company's operations.

Sunday Afternoon, March 20th
Option 1) Afternoon Boat Cruise (3-7pm)
Option 2) Desert Safari (2-10pm)
We will be providing Alumni with two options:
Option 1) BOOZY BOAT CRUISE:
We will take a beautiful Boat leaving from Dubai Marina (West Dubai, 30min from Downtown) in the afternoon, equipped with open bar to relax and unwind with the backdrop of the Dubai skyline, as we motor around Palm Jumeirah and catch up with our fellow cardinals. What better way to end the weekend, than a typical Dubai boat ride as the sun sets!
Timing: 2:30pm, boat leaves at 3pm to 7pm
Dress Code: Boat Casual and sunscreen, it'll be warm during the day before the sun goes down. Bring a swimsuit if you desire a mid-boat dip in the Bay which is a great refresher!

Option 2) DESERT SAFARI:
For those of you wishing to venture out into the Dubai deserts, we will be arranging a Desert Safari, which will include Dune-Bashing in 4x4s, Camel Rides, Falconry, Belly Dancing and entertainment while at a Desert Camp for Dinner.
Timing: 2pm to 10pm (hotel pick up and drop off)
Dress Code: Comfortable and Relaxed, Sandals or Sneakers, with a sweater for the evening (the desert gets very chilly at night!)
